Ali Tighnavard Balasbaneh embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Azad University of Iran, Bandar Anzali, laying the foundation for his future in construction management. He pursued his Master's degree in Construction Management and later earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction Management, from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His research during this period focused on topics related to sustainability, including residential housing schemes for global warming and hot climate airflow studies in residential buildings.

With over seven years of experience as a senior lecturer and three years as a Ph.D. scholar, Ali has made significant contributions to academia and research. He has taught a variety of courses related to construction management, sustainability, and civil engineering statistics at institutions such as Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
