Alphonse KAYIRANGA embarked on his academic journey with a Master of Science in Cartography and Geographic Information System (GIS) from the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, graduating in June 2017. His specialization in GIS and Remote Sensing laid the foundation for his subsequent contributions to the field.

PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS:

Since September 2018, Alphonse has been actively involved in the research domain, initially as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGSNRR-CAS). Currently, he holds the position of a Special Research Assistant at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences (XIEG-CAS), where he is responsible for conducting Eco-hydrological research in the Aral Sea basin.

CONTRIBUTIONS AND RESEARCH FOCUS:

Alphonse KAYIRANGA has demonstrated expertise in remote sensing and geo-informatics applications in ecohydrology and landscape monitoring. His research revolves around modeling land and atmosphere interactions, particularly the eco-hydro-climate characteristics.
