APPOINTMENTS:
Philippe GUEGUEN currently serves as SENIOR RESEARCHER (DIRECTEUR DE RECHERCHE) at Université Gustave Eiffel – ISTerre since 2011, where he leads research initiatives in geophysics and seismic risk assessment. Prior to this role, he held positions as JUNIOR RESEARCHER at LCPC – LGIT from 2001 to 2010 and as JUNIOR ENGINEER at Geoconcept in Chambéry from 2000 to 2001. He also contributed to scientific cooperation as a SCIENTIFIC NATIONAL SERVICE COOPERANT at ORSTOM in Quito from 1996 to 1997.
EDUCATION:
His academic journey includes earning a Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) from Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France in 2009, a PhD in Geophysics in 2000, an MSc (DEA) in Geophysics in 1995, and an Ing. Dipl in Geotechnics in 1994, all from Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, France.

He is a member of the Grenoble Observatory of Earth (OSUG), representing GERS/UGE, and has led the Seismic Risk group at Université Gustave Eiffel from 2018 to 2023.
