Samer Fikry Ahmed holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where his thesis focused on "Spark Ignition of Turbulent Non-Premixed Flames" (2007). He also earned a Master of Engineering from the University of Helwan, concentrating on thermal loading and emissions of diesel engines (2002), and a Bachelor of Engineering from the same institution (1997).
