Geoffrey Ssebabi Mutumba holds a Ph.D. in Energy Economics and Governance from Makerere University, completed in 2024. Geoffrey has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Kyambogo University since 2011. CURRENT ROLE AND EXPERIENCE

Denis Silva da Silveira is an associate professor in the Department of Management at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in northeastern Brazil. With over a decade of experience in the software industry as a developer and consultant, Denis transitioned into academia, where he now focuses on business process management and information systems.

EDUCATION AND POSTDOCTORATE

Denis earned his Ph.D. in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2009, with a dissertation titled "Animare: An Animation Method for Validating the Business Process." He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the New University of Lisbon in 2015/2016, where he developed a reusable business process modeling approach.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Denis’s research interests are diverse and encompass information systems architecture, conceptual modeling, semantic models, user models, and business process management. He is particularly interested in how these areas intersect and enhance organizational efficiency.

INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONS

Denis is actively involved in international research collaborations and has an extensive publication record. He has authored over 180 papers across journals, conferences, workshops, and book chapters, making significant contributions to the field of information systems and business process management.

Denis serves on the editorial boards of several esteemed international journals, including the International Journal of Simulation and Process Modelling, the Journal of Advances in Management Sciences & Information Systems, and the Journal of Comprehensive Business Administration Research. He is also a member of program committees for prominent scientific conferences, such as the International Symposium on Business Modelling and Software Design (BMSD).

AWARDS AND HONORS

Throughout his career, Denis has received numerous accolades. Notably, he secured the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Conference on Computational Science and its Applications (ICCSA 2014) and an Honorable Mention at the 23rd Brazilian Congress of Informatics in Education in 2012. His achievements highlight his impact and recognition within the academic community.

SUPERVISION AND MENTORSHIP

Denis has supervised four doctoral theses and thirty master's dissertations, demonstrating his commitment to mentoring the next generation of scholars. His students have also achieved recognition, with one winning second place in the Master's Dissertation Contest at the 3rd Brazilian Congress of Informatics in Education in 2014.
