Xupeng He's academic journey commenced at Chang'an University in Xi'an, China, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Resource Exploration Engineering (Oil and Gas) with an impressive GPA of 3.76/4.0. He furthered his education at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, obtaining a Master's in Earth Science and Engineering and subsequently a Ph.D. in Energy Resources and Petroleum Engineering. His research focus during his Ph.D. was on "Fluid Flow in Fractured Rocks: Analysis and Modeling."

Xupeng's professional profile showcases his role as a Petroleum Scientist in the EXPEC Advanced Research Center (EXPEC ARC) at Saudi Aramco, where he has been contributing since December 2022. Prior to this, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Ali I. Al-Naimi Petroleum Engineering Research Center (ANPERC) at KAUST from May 2022 to December 2022.
