Prof. Guangyang Liu | Environmental Risk Assessment | Research Excellence Award
Deputy director | Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences | China
Prof. Guangyang Liu is a Research Fellow, Ph.D. supervisor, and CAAS Young Talent at the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IVF-CAAS). His research centers on the nutritional quality and safety control of vegetable products, with particular emphasis on pesticide residues, heavy-metal contaminants, nano-enabled detection, and functional nanomaterials for quality enhancement. Trained across analytical chemistry, horticulture, materials science, and nanotechnology, he has established an integrated technology system for pollutant detection, controlled removal, sample pretreatment, and purification in vegetable products, contributing both theoretical advances and practical solutions for agricultural supply-chain safety. Dr. Liu has published 129 academic papers, including 90 SCI-indexed articles, with 56 as first or corresponding author in high-impact journals such as Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Advanced Research, Food Chemistry, and Journal of Cleaner Production. His publications have achieved a total impact factor of 395.6, with 21 articles exceeding an impact factor of 8, 12 above 10, and 2 ESI highly cited papers. He holds an H-index of 32, has published 16 Chinese core articles, and secured 22 authorized invention patents with four additional patents under review. He has led major national and institutional projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Program, Beijing Municipal grants, CAAS Innovation Projects, and the National Vegetable Product Quality and Safety Risk Assessment Program. He has also contributed to national R&D initiatives under the “13th Five-Year” and “14th Five-Year” plans and serves as an expert in multiple national science and technology committees. Dr. Liu’s achievements have been recognized with numerous honors, including the First Prize of the National Commercial Science and Technology Progress Award (2022), CAAS Young Talent awards, the MDPI Outstanding Author Award (2023), and membership in Sigma Xi (2024–2025). He serves on editorial boards of several international journals and is an active reviewer for leading publications in analytical chemistry, nanomaterials, and food science, contributing significantly to global research and food-safety governance.
