Dr. Yin Ping Wong embarked on her academic journey by pursuing a medical degree (MD) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), graduating in 2006. She then undertook training as a Trainee Lecturer and Medical Officer at the Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, UKM. Subsequently, she pursued her Master of Pathology (DrPath) in Anatomical Pathology at UKM, completing her training in 2013.

Dr. Wong has amassed a wealth of professional experience in the field of pathology. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Pathology, Consultant Histopathologist, and Cytopathologist at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Her professional journey also includes appointments as a Senior Lecturer and Anatomical Pathologist at UKM. Furthermore, she has served as a Medical Officer at Hospital Ipoh, Perak, and as a House Officer at University Malaya Medical Centre.
