EDUCATION AND EARLY CAREER

Yao Lu graduated with a CCNA certification in 2011 and has a strong educational background in engineering. He served as Vice President of the Students Union at Jiangsu University from 2014 to 2015, earning first-class scholarships in 2015 and 2017.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

Currently, Yao is an Assistant Professor at Anhui University, China, a position he has held since January 2023. Previously, he was a Senior Associate Researcher at Lancaster University, UK, where he worked from August 2021 to January 2023.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Yao's industry experience includes roles as a Network Engineer at Citrix Systems in Nanjing, China, and as a Software Engineer at Hua Xia Tech Company in Zhenjiang. His technical expertise is broad, encompassing software development and network engineering.

Yao has received multiple accolades, including the Best Paper Award at the IEEE International Conference on Data Science and Systems (IEEE DSS 2018) and the 6th International Symposium on Real-time Data Processing for Cloud Computing (RTDPCC 2020).

His research focuses on Big Data Analytics, specifically workload data analysis and prediction for energy efficiency in large-scale ICT systems. Yao has developed advanced feature analytics and pattern detection techniques for heterogeneous datasets.

Yao's work on Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud involves real-time prediction of user request patterns and workload analytics for sustainable data centres. His innovative AI-based models, such as IGRU-SD and KRVLBPNN, aim to enhance energy efficiency in cloud computing environments.

INTERNET OF THINGS AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

His research interests also extend to the Internet of Things and communication systems, where he applies AI-based models to solve practical problems, further contributing to advancements in scheduling and resource management in distributed data centres.
