Ngiamte George Lemewihbwen has actively participated in notable field courses, including the Society of Economic Geology (SEG) Ronald E. Seavoy Field Course in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Here, he explored Tertiary-age volcanic-hosted epithermal precious metal deposits of the Walker Lane Trend. His studies involved examining various mineralization styles and ore types, including low-sulfidation gold deposits at Paradise Peak and high-sulfidation precious metal deposits in the Goldfield District. Additionally, he assessed detachment faults and hypogene mineralization at renowned gold districts. In October 2023, he attended the 8th SGA-IUGS-SEG-UNESCO Short Course in Johannesburg, South Africa, focusing on the role of mineral wealth in Africa's energy transition.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Currently serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Geology at the University of Bamenda, Cameroon, Ngiamte is responsible for delivering lectures, grading assignments, and conducting tutorials in petrography and optical mineralogy. His role involves mentoring undergraduate students, maintaining course materials, and enhancing his teaching skills through continuous training.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

Ngiamte has contributed significantly to CAMALCO SA/Canyon Resources as an Exploration Geologist, where he has been involved in developing the Minim Martap bauxite resource. His responsibilities include fieldwork, sampling, drilling program execution, and technical report preparation. His expertise extends to using GIS software for spatial data interpretation and the Olympus VANTA portable XRF analyzer for sample analysis.

PUBLICATIONS

His research has been published in esteemed journals, including "Geology of Ore Deposits," "Acta Geochimica," and the "Journal of African Earth Sciences." Notable works include studies on oxygen isotope geochemistry in Southern Cameroon and bulk geochemistry of the Metzimevin high-grade iron ore deposit. These contributions highlight his expertise in exploring mineral deposits and analyzing geochemical data.

Ngiamte is an active member of several professional societies, including the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA), the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), and the Cameroon Association of Geoscience (CAG). His involvement in these organizations underscores his commitment to advancing the field of geoscience.

ACTIVITIES

In addition to his professional work, Ngiamte serves as the IEEEXtreme 16.0 Section/Subsection Lead for Cameroon, where he engages in micro-volunteering challenges and organizes training programs. He is also the IEEE GRSS Local Chapter Coordinator for Cameroon, responsible for coordinating activities, promoting membership, and contributing to local chapter communications.

Ngiamte possesses a strong command of geoscience software, including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, CorelDRAW, and Python. His proficiency in these tools complements his technical abilities and supports his diverse interests in fieldwork, research, and community engagement.
