Dr. S. Parveen has received notable recognition for her achievements in the field of chemistry. She has been approved as a supervisor under the Faculty of Science and Humanities by Anna University, as indicated by reference number 3470036. Dr. Parveen successfully completed the DST – WOS(A) Project with a funding of Rs. 18,18,517/- from May 2014 to April 2017 at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Her excellence in academic examinations is reflected in her GATE exam performance, where she achieved 85% in February 2007, securing an All India rank of 727, with the validity extending to March 2009.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Dr. Parveen's research experience is marked by her Ph.D. thesis entitled “Structural Diversity and Biological Evaluation of Metal Complexes of Schiff Bases Generated from Hydrazine Derivatives and α-Ketoacids” completed at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Her expertise includes the DST-WOS(A) project, which also focused on the structural diversity and biological evaluation of metal complexes. Additionally, she completed a summer training in 2006 at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, specializing in Mass and Infrared Spectroscopy. Her project on “Isostructural Divalent Cobalt, Nickel, and Zinc Citrate Dehydrates Containing Aminoguanidinium Cation” further showcases her extensive research capabilities.

RESEARCH ARTICLES PUBLISHED

Dr. Parveen has contributed significantly to international scientific literature. Her research articles cover a wide range of topics, including the synthesis and biological evaluation of new hydrazone ligands and metal complexes, water-soluble cobalt complexes, and catalytic activities of ZnM2O4 compounds. Notable publications include studies in journals such as Inorganica Chimica Acta, Journal of Indian Chemical Society, and New Journal of Chemistry. Her work has also explored DNA-binding studies and antioxidant properties of various compounds, demonstrating her broad impact on the field.

CONFERENCES PARTICIPATED

Dr. Parveen has actively participated in several prestigious conferences. She delivered an oral presentation on “Synthesis, Structural Characterization, DNA- & BSA-Binding Interactions, and Antibacterial Activity of New Schiff Base Ligand and its Silver(I) Complex” at the International Conference on “Recent Advances in Materials and Chemical Sciences” in December 2015. She also presented her work on “New Solid Solution Precursors for the Synthesis of Metal and Mixed Metal Oxides” at the International Conference on “Advanced Materials” in December 2016 and discussed her research on molecular docking in a national seminar in August 2017.

WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS ATTENDED

Dr. Parveen has furthered her expertise through various workshops and seminars. She participated in a National Workshop on “X-Ray Crystallography and its Applications” organized by Bharathiar University in March 2014. Additionally, she attended a workshop on “Scanning Probe Microscopy and High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy” at PSG Institute of Advanced Studies in January 2015. Her engagement in nanoscience and technology was enriched by a summer internship program in June 2016 and a National Seminar on “Advanced Functional Materials” in March 2017.

She completed a Faculty Development Program on “Environmental Science and Engineering” in July 2011 and a workshop on “High Impact Teaching Skills” in October 2011.
