She further pursued her academic endeavors by obtaining a Ph.D. in Energy Systems and Thermal Processes from the University of Paris-Est, France, in 2008.

Following her academic pursuits, Laaroussi worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Socotec Industries, France, from 2009 to 2011. Since 2011, she has been an integral part of the Materials, Energy, and Acoustics Team (MEAT) at the Higher School of Technology of Salé, University Mohammed V of Rabat, Morocco, where she holds the position of Professor (PES).
