Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nomali Z. Ngobese is an accomplished researcher specializing in plant physiology, crop science, and sustainable agricultural systems, with extensive contributions to food security, climate-smart agriculture, and postharvest technology. Her work at North-West University’s School of Geo and Spatial Sciences integrates environmental management with crop biodiversity and community-centered food innovation. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals, focusing on potato physiology, postharvest quality enhancement, nutrient management, and underutilized crops such as Amaranthus and Moringa. Ngobese’s leadership includes chairing research ethics committees, hosting agricultural conferences, and leading multi-institutional projects like the Climate Resilient and Responsible Innovations in Potato (CRRIsP) initiative. Her research attracts substantial national and international funding, including support from the National Research Foundation, UK Research & Innovation, and Horizon 2020.
