Xie Wanfeng initiated his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in 2005 from Lanzhou University, China, and furthered his studies with a dual-culture Master's degree in Condensed Matter Physics from Ludong University and Beihang University, Beijing, in 2011. He pursued a Doctoral degree in Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics from Shandong University, China, completing it in 2016. His research during this period focused on the preparation and optoelectronic performances of 8-hydroxyquinoline-based organic small molecular crystalline materials.

Since 2016, Xie Wanfeng has been an integral part of the Microelectronics department at Qingdao University.
