EARLY ACADEMIC PURSUITS

Zenebe Amele Sahile embarked on his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia, graduating in July 2013. He continued his academic pursuits and obtained a Master's degree in Water Supply and Sanitary Engineering from the same university in May 2018. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Water and Environmental Engineering at Arba Minch University since June 2022.

PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS

Zenebe's professional journey is marked by his dedication to academia and community engagement. Since May 2018, he has held the position of Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Water Supply and Environmental Engineering, Arba Minch University, where his responsibilities include offering various courses, conducting research on water quality and biodigester plants, and engaging in community projects. Additionally, he served as the Dean of the faculty from October 2020 to June 2022, leading and organizing faculty staff and students.

CONTRIBUTIONS AND RESEARCH FOCUS

As a researcher, Zenebe's focus spans a range of critical topics, including waste management, wastewater treatment, environmental engineering, renewable energy, and research methods. He actively contributes to research on water quality and biodigester plant performance. Zenebe has also been involved in consultancy projects for governmental and non-governmental institutions.

NOTABLE PUBLICATION

Water quality assessment of Elgo river in Ethiopia using CCME, WQI and IWQI for domestic and agricultural usage.  

Zenebe's impact is evident in his role as the Head of Wastewater and Solid Waste Engineering chair, where he supported faculty administration works and played a crucial role as an environmentalist and sanitation expert. His community engagement projects, work on irrigation projects, and contributions to sanitary landfill design projects showcase his influence in addressing real-world environmental challenges.

LEGACY AND FUTURE CONTRIBUTIONS

Zenebe's legacy is built on a foundation of academic leadership, community engagement, and impactful research. With two published papers on water quality research and three more research papers in the pipeline, including topics like nanotechnology for bioenergy, sustainability of biogas technology, and indoor pollution and human health, he is poised to make enduring contributions to the field.
